Put a clamp on it would ya.

Weather funky again. It’s the time of year we have lots of flooded spots we can rinse the sand from our feet. Knee deep to a mid sized dog, you might say.

But other than that, was dickin ‘round shooting hummers a few days ago and got some nice shots, but I see it is beginning to be boring. So as I slurped a few bottles of the ‘Elixir of Knowledge’ it hit me. We need to see these birds in a more realistic setting, and that would include a flower.

Me being the type of hunter that does not like to leave the sanctity of my deck chair, and cold beer I began to ponder a solution. Out to the shop I stumbled and a few minutes later I emerged with what I call the “Flower Clamp”. (Not to be confused with the little party spot across the lagoon “Flower Camp’.)

I found a sturdy clamp, bent a coat hanger around it, straightened out the hanger and attached a small alligator clamp to that end. Badda Boom Badda Bing,, a Flower Clamp!
Now I can clamp the big end to almost anything and hold something smaller in the other end. In this case it was clamped to the handrail with a flower in the other end. It was not a minute before a bird checked it out. I did sprinkle some sugar water on it.

I’m a fuckin genoius genious geinous really smart.

And then I saw this,, it summed up my mom’s current driving situation perfectly.
How do you know when it's time to hang up the car keys? When the dog looks like this.

The problem with some people is that when they aren't drunk, they're sober.

Excellent capture on the hummingbird. Novel idea of moving the flowers to your feeder. Now you need to organize a beer bottle on it's side with a hummingbird trying to take a drink.
