Birds of a feather,,,,,

As promised, here is a shot of Danube’s chocolate cake just minutes before Mrs. Barn devoured it.

She said it was good!

Yesterday was somewhat of a different day for us. We went along on a tour of Red Bank to see the Scarlet Macaws who migrate there each year.
“45 minute hike” sez Basillio our guide. Well, that turned into a 4 hour hike cause we just kept going deeper and deeper looking for birds.
This place was totally devoid of fowl! Not one Macaw showed his red ass. We hiked and hiked, thru corn fields where guys were gathering corn. “Seen any macaws?”
“Not today, some yesterday.” And on we went. Had to cross a river at one point. I chose a bad line that was too deep and had strong current.

Being barefoot really made it tough with the slimy moss covered rocky river bed. A few times me and an entire bag of camera gear about went swimming! Kinda stressful, and my feet are sore today.
Mrs. Barn managed to get this shot of a blue Mot-Mot. We also saw some Toucans but they were too far for photos.

The hike was fun, a little rough but worth it. Especially if you get to see some birds. Basillio sez this has not happened to him in 3 years. Sez maybe the Chalillo dam may be effecting them?
So,, just like the resort Ara Macao, the Scarlet Macaws were never seen!

“Whose round is it? Can’t be mine already, I bought one four drinks ago. Who’s the fifth guy? Where’s that asshole? Step up to the plate! Fifth man up!”
