Denver re-done

I’m back.
First thing, let me say thank you for being concerned about Pops. (my dad) Thank you for the comments.
He is having a tough go of it right now. The list of issues is long and depressing to say the least. We thought we lost him last week but he bounced back and pretty well at that! But, we can all see the writing on the wall.
I won’t get into detail with his ailments but being blind and then losing his hearing makes things much worse. I found a pair of headphones designed for birdwatchers that have an amplified microphone built in. it worked wonders for him! He could again join in the conversation. And if you have ever met my dad, he is one funny guy to have around,, lots of laughs with him! He is the KING of the practical jokes!
But when I left him on Wednesday he had improved from the previous Wednesday, so I felt somewhat comfortable to come home.
Let’s all hope he sticks around!

Here he is last year having a beer with me.

Me helping shine him up for a therapist visit.

And my lens fund took a severe beating with this trip,, bummer.

News at ‘Chez Barnacle was not so pleasing either. While I was gone FuzzNutts was sent to the big litter box in the sky. The list of issues with him were just as long and depressing and we both believe he is better off now. Poor little guy really got jipped outa life. 4 years old is not much for a cat, and 2 of them he was blind also!
Hats off to Mrs. Barn and Pam for having what it takes to do it. I know it was hard.

R.I.P. FuzzNutts, we miss you already little buddy.

Here are some other items of interest from my trip.
I always sleep out in the ‘back room’ at my Moms house and if I have to whizz at night I just go out and water a plant. My first morning there I was greeted with 3 degree temps and about 6 inches of that white, cold shit!

I tried to whizz but I couldn’t find my pecker!

I can’t go to Denver without stopping for my favorite pizza,, the #4. Ham, sausage, pepperoni, bacon and mushrooms.

I was in Denver for valentines day. A few of the ‘specials’ I noticed,,

Fredricks of Hollywood: 10 % off anything crotchless.

Chaplains bar: Free Margarita’s for every table that looks like the guy is having trouble closing the deal.

Sears portrait studio: free after hours erotic portrait season when you call Doug on his home phone.
(I like this idea!)

And one thing I notice every time I visit Denver. After a few days, it is amazing what comes outa my nose! Next trip I will get some photos for those of you who really want to see it!

And we are now instructed how to flush the toilets at the international in BZ city!

The first thing in the human personality that dissolves in alcohol is dignity.

I wanted to take a picture of that sign!! There's one in the ladies'room too.
Glad you are back and that your Dad bounced back. Hope he hangs in there for a while.

Nice that you were able to fix your dad up with a nifty device to help him hear. Wish I'd thought of something like that when my dad was in the check-out lane. Being blind and deaf has to be the worst and he's no doubt grateful to his little apple-cheeked boy!

Glad to hear your Pops is doing better! I went thru several of those incidents with my Dad and I know what it takes out of ya.

Screw the sign, I'm still using the toe of my boot to flip the lid and flush. Hasn't failed me yet!

Just have the blankies at hand because we're being told of a high of 35F with a mix of rain and snow for next Tuesday in SAT. An Albert Clipper is comin' on down.

It's good to have you back being our eyes and ears on the isle. So glad to know your Pop is OK - I've been wondering what up.

But so sad to hear about "FuzziNutz" yeah my name for him. You gave him a good home for his short fuzzy life and that means a lot to any living creature.

Glad your dad is doing better. Life seems to be a little crazy for you right now. Hope some good luck comes your way soon! I didn't get to meet Fuzz Nuts, but I feel like I new him...I think he had a better life than some cats who live to be 20 yrs.

Yo Barn,

Sorry to hear about your Dad, seeing your parents ailing is really tough. The earphones were insightful. My mother-in-law has similar issues with heraring.

You mentioned a lens, which lens was it, can't seem to find it in your archives. You really do have the touch with photography.

It's great to know that the Bonnie Brae is still in bussiness. Wish I could remember the owner's name from the 70's. What a nice guy.
